In October 2019, the National Democratic Institute (NDI) and its partners organized the inaugural summit of the Constitutional Term Limits Initiative in Niamey, Niger. Since this event, NDI has continued to bring together prominent constitutional experts, civil society leaders, former heads of state, and thought leaders from across Africa to advocate for greater respect for constitutional term limits.
